Meet the Chef

As owner of Roaming Gourmet - A Personal Chef Service, Ruth Guthrie provides a wide variety of mouth-watering entrees and side dishes for busy people who choose to eat better and still have time to enjoy friends and family.

Several early employment opportunities taught Ruth that a combination of high quality ingredients and a little imagination can result in a phenomenal dining experience. In her teens, Ruth worked in butcher shops where she learned to recognize and appreciate high quality cuts of meat. This was also her first exposure to safe food handling techniques, which she stringently follows to this day. Over the years, Ruth also worked at several food service establishments where she continued to build upon her culinary knowledge.

After several years in Information Technology, Ruth left that field to return to a profession that would let her do what she truly enjoys, helping others through food. She operated a food service franchise, at which time she received her Food Manager's Certification from the state of Texas. Later, Ruth began cooking at Wolfgang Puck Catering where she further enhanced her culinary expertise.

Being a personal chef allows Ruth the ability to customize recipes to an individual's nutritional needs and personal preferences, and provide levels of customer service that cannot be achieved at most traditional food service establishments.
